I thought the movie was VERY well done ,the soundtrack excellent and this review NOT very good, accurate. Escobar: Paradise Lost, as promising as it often is, feels like two barely connected half-movies. The percentage of Approved Tomatometer Critics who have given this movie a positive review.

The movie's hero is a young surfer who inadvertently falls in love with Escobar's. Escobar doesn't much like loose ends, it seems, and it's one of the weaknesses of Di Stefano's screenplay that it takes Nick (and Maria) much longer than the audience to figure out that, by this logic, he himself is soon to end up in the crosshairs. The film actually takes a cue from Scorsese and opens with a scene from the middle of the story.
There, Escobar calls Nick and a bunch of his cronies to see him. In the opening scene, we see Nick, who sits in a church in a lot of pain. And then we meet Nick again in Escobar`s hiding place, where he announces that due to his agreement with the government, he is going to surrender… The only reason that 'Escobar: Paradise Lost' was made and the only reason to ever consider watching it is the fact that someone had the ingenious idea of casting Benicio Del Toro as the notorious Colombian cocaine king Pablo Escobar. Del Toro is every bit as good as you'd hope in the title role.
