"The Raid" is the very definition of an action movie.
It's action movie perfection brought to life by the amazing team of writer/director/editor Gareth. Review: A good film is it's own reward. Raj Kumar Gupta has made an entertaining and impressive film with Raid. Raid is an engrossing film, its moulded in the commercial film format. There are songs, there are twists and there's an abundance of thrills. Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn), an honest income tax office moves to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh with his wife Malini (Ileana D'cruz).

After he gets the tip, Amay carries out the longest raid at the mansion of the most powerful and corrupt. This violent, intense and brilliant bulletfest from Indonesia puts western action movies to shame. The Raid does not detain the audience with expositions of character; despite the plot reversals there is no pretence at subtlety or depth, and the comparison with Tarantino does not.
Raid review: In all this to-ing and fro-ing, background music blaring to make up for the lack of real drama, even a terrific actor like Saurabh Shukla The pithily named Raid is about, well, the raid that's planned and executed by a ramrod straight income tax officer and his colleagues upon a wealthy. He carries his dead-pan face as he rattles seemingly 'powerful' dialogues. Neeraj Pandey put out a pulsating thriller.
